Dan Carter - Cub Scout

“A great nostalgic romp … or youthful adventures to pass along to your kids,” says Marcy Birdweather, Marcy’s Musings.

This 2-IN-1 Book gives you the first two volumes in the Dan Carter - Cub Scout YA series, written by the same author who (often under a pseudonym) wrote most of the Nancy Drew books.

Adventure 1: Ten-year-old Dan Carter and his fellow Cub Scouts from Den 2 in Webster City want to explore Mr. Silverton’s pheasant farm, but caretaker Saul Dobbs orders them away. What’s going on here? When the rains come down in torrents, backing up the creek, the pheasants are endangered and Dan leads to fellow Cubs to the rescue.

Adventure 2: Dan Carter finds a mysterious message that refers to Skeleton Island, site of a potential Scout camp. But when the Cubs spot a missing boy in the upstairs window of an abandoned hotel on the island, they realize a gang of fur thieves may be closer at hand than anyone suspected.

Mildred Augustine Wirt Benson is best known as the author of the early Nancy Drew books. Writing under various pseudonyms - Carolyn Keene, Francis Judd, Dorothy West, Helen Louise Thorndyke, as well as her own name - she penned over 130 books for children, numerous short stories, plus thousands of newspaper articles and columns. As the original Carolyn Keen, she was the author of 23 of the first 30 Nancy Drew mystery stories.
